Minor Swing

Assemblage light art sculpture made from a silver baritone horn, a chrome reflector dish, and a collection of painted watch springs which "shimmy" as they revolve around an axis.

This represents my first attempt at using a motor to make a "moving" sculpture. It's also a good example of how working with light can often be surprising. In particular, there is an optical illusion which makes the reflection of the color springs to appear to be moving more quickly than the springs themselves.
