Two saxophone bells joined in an S-curve, topped by a concave chrome space heater dish with rods and LEDs refracting color outward
Zigzag

Zigzag is a carefully balanced composition made from two connected bells of silver alto saxophones, forming a flowing, sculptural S-curve that rises from a rounded base. At the top, a concave metal dish—originally part of a vintage space heater—acts as both frame and reflector for a cluster of internally lit plexiglas rods. The rods, illuminated by hidden LEDs, project vivid color outward and onto the mirrored inner surface of the dish, creating a dynamic interplay between light and structure. The work draws on the vocabulary of Futurism, with its streamlined curves, metallic finish, and sense of motion held in suspension. It also suggests a retro-modern machine or instrument, at once mechanical and expressive, engineered yet playful.
