Le Coeur De L'homme
Titled Le Cœur de l’Homme, this sculpture centers around the circular housing of a vintage space heater, now backlit in deep blue. The concave form serves as both backdrop and frame for a compact relief made from internal lock mechanisms, copper wire, and watch components. The composition is segmented and visually balanced, yet intentionally asymmetrical—suggesting a kind of internal structure that is precise but not rigid. The title was offered by a friend who, reflecting on the piece, imagined the heart of a man as something logical, angled, and complex—more engineered than emotional. The sculpture reflects that idea, evoking an inner world built from mechanisms rather than sentiment. Visually and conceptually, the work aligns with object-based Surrealism, where mechanical parts are arranged into suggestive compositions that hint at internal complexity rather than telling a direct story.
