Illuminated box sculpture with abstract transparency that can be removed to reveal a spiral interior made from a clock spring, topped with a vintage vacuum tube and upright black feather

Faisselle

This sculpture, from the Faisselle series, offers two distinct views: one with a photographic image, held in place by magnets, and one without it, revealing an illuminated spiral inside the box. The surface image is vivid and gestural; the interior, cool and mechanical. Each sculpture is topped with a set of fixed elements—feather, tube, or other forms—that vary from box to box, lending each its own character.
