Description
The integration of this lamp assemblage, top to bottom, is partially accomplished by the monotone chrome color which is evident both with the round reflector and with the trumpet. However, while both forms are interesting in their own right, I felt that the connection needed to be strengthened. So integration was augmented by the numbers '3', '4', '5', '6' that are included within the composition; As a result, the chrome color and the numbers both serve an integrating function, top to bottom.

However, there is a kind of symbolic integration as well, related to the positioning and pattern of the numbers displayed.

More specifically, notice that:

1) It is not a random selection of numbers, i.e. 3, 4, 5, 6 were chosen, the numbers 4, 4, 7, 8 were not
2) The numbers are in their correct order, i.e. bottom to top they are arranged in the correct sequence
3) The number 6 is estranged from the other 3 numbers (thus giving this piece its title)

To explain further, the numbers 3, 4, and 5 are close together and well balanced, positioned harmonically within the curves of the trumpet. By contrast, the number 6 is separately located within the somewhat random positioning of the lights at the top. Also notice also that the lights themselves are cold colored in their tones (blue and white vs. yellow and red), colors that might be described as severe and impersonal.
